Sustainable AI

Erik Mannens

Wondering how to bring your organisation into the Sustainable AI realm? Wondering how other organisations already implemented AI in a sustainable manner? Or just wondering what Sustainable AI entails and how to start with it in the first place? Either reason is good enough to read this book :)

A story that had to be written

"One of the book's greatest strengths lies in its balance between critique and constructive guidance. Erik doesn't just diagnose the problems; he also charts a path forward. The book provides a clear and detailed roadmap for this sustainable evolution, offering specific examples of sustainable AI cases that serve as beacons for how the field can and should progress. These case studies are invaluable, demonstrating that sustainable AI is not just a theoretical ideal but a practical and achievable goal."

prof. dr. Steven Latré - VP AI&Algorithms @ imec

"Erik's book is not just a guide for technologists or policymakers; it is a call to action for all of us. The future of AI will be shaped by the choices we make today, and it is up to us to ensure that this powerful technology becomes a force for good — a tool that enhances our lives, protects our environment, and upholds our values. By fostering a vision of sustainable AI, this book seeks to lay the foundation for a future where technology serves humanity, rather than the other way around."
